Yesterday was a really crummy day, but it ended with an acceptance, so I could go to bed happy. Today I made a few edits on my chapter revision, and am about to work on the revision that will go to my third journal attempt with it. This journal is very prestigious so we are aiming high.

Congratulations on the acceptance, darkstarrynight!

For my part, I might manage some work on a book section while I wait for events to unfold. But I'll forgive myself if I don't.
I know it's a genus.

I've been struggling with a piece for most of the day today. It's a response to someone else's target article, which is a new kind of writing for me. I have most of the piece drafted now, but with lots of comments to myself throughout to fill in pieces of information or find examples, etc. So it doesn't feel like I really got to any kind of good ending point, but my brain is so fried I think I have to give up for now.

I came back to this piece with fresh eyes today, which was helpful. I reworked the perspective a bit, which made the writing go much more smoothly. So now I have a full draft - a messy draft with many notes to myself about information to fill in later, but a draft nonetheless.

Did a bit, but not much. I'll try again tomorrow.

Finally finished the draft today. I'll do some final edits the next time I come back to this, hopefully tomorrow, and then send to my co-author.

I did not get to my own research today, but I did complete a manuscript review as a guest reviewer for a new journal, and did some editor-related work (sent a revision out for second review). I also met with one of my mentees who is a doctoral student at another institution as hu has just started data collection their dissertation.

I just did a few edits on the book chapter revisions, and took a look at the manuscript my team is trying to submit to the third journal. I think these are both very close.
