I submitted the revised book chapter last night with approval from my co-authors, a month early! Now my co-authors and I are aiming to finish the manuscript today for the article that is close. I am feeling positive going into the weekend.

nonsensical

I gave a graduate student comments on a paper today. It was a strong draft that I was able to comment on all in one day, and sending it off was a lovely way to start the weekend.

I received a light R&R yesterday (this will be the second R&R for this paper, so tying up loose ends at this point). Hope to turn it around quickly - probably in early April.

That is great news! We ended up submitting our manuscript on Friday night to prestigious journal. I am so relieved that most of my projects are under review or in press. I have one in progress with transcription, one that I need to get IRB approval for, and one that gets started this week after receiving IRB approval, then other long-term things lurking in the background. This week I am presenting on a panel for a virtual conference and also have my pre-recorded session done for it. It is completely open/free/does not require registration, so I shared this with my students in case they want to see me outside of the virtual classroom/zoom meetings.

Congratulations!

I've been going through another strong paper from a different graduate student today. Didn't get all the way through because I had some other things on my calendar, but I just have a few pages at the end and some supplementary documents to review before sending this back.

Wait, did you quietly cross off "secure a tenure track job and start independent PI research" without any of us noticing?
Incredible. Congratulations!

Yes, congratulations!!! That is amazing news.

In less amazing news, I just sent a post-doc some feedback on a paper that looks pretty close to being ready for submission.
