Yes, congratulations!!! That is amazing news.

In less amazing news, I just sent a post-doc some feedback on a paper that looks pretty close to being ready for submission.

Thank you, Nonsensical!! Congratulations on your post-doc's soon-to-be submission.

I present today on a virtual conference panel, and my pre-recorded session went live this week. Everything else I am waiting for from co-authors or slow journal review processes right now. On a completely unrelated note, I got my first "statement" from publishing a book a year and a half ago, and will finally get a few pennies from all of the sales thus far. I thank myself for negotiating the contract to remove "first right of refusal" with this publisher if I write another book.

nonsensical

I have now drafted all of the supplementary docs for the older grant I mentioned a few times in this thread, except for the budget and budget justification. The budget is a bear that can wait for a different day.

Thank you, darkstarrynight. I will indeed celebrate more fully once onboarding is complete...it still feels surreal.
Glad your panel went well!!

My teaching schedule is going to ramp up next week and I have to finish putting together my tenure packet, so research will be on the backburner this month. But I have a few goals:

  • Resubmit conditionally accepted paper
  • Submit rejected paper to a new journal
  • Continue making progress on data collection project - RAs doing the bulk of the work on this at the moment
  • Make progress on 2 conference papers due in April

I'm satisfied with my progress on all of these things. Also managed to get my tenure file turned in and to keep up with teaching and other obligations.

I'll try to do a bit of reading for a new book section or something.
