I'm pretty swamped this month, between teaching, heavy involvement in two conferences, and a few service projects. But I do have a few April goals:

  • Finish conference paper
  • Do some light copy editing on a conditionally accepted manuscript to make the editor happy
  • Keep working on data collection project

I can't wait to have more time during the summer to focus on my research, particularly on finally working through the data that my RAs have been collecting for the last several months.

Thanks, Faith786, for getting this started!

April Goals

  • Continue cleaning up transcripts for data analysis with subfield colleague (anticipating conference proposal acceptance in the next week for October)
  • Revise rejected manuscript and submit to different journal with two colleagues
  • Continue collecting data for project with new faculty colleague in department
  • Try to move on IRB and manuscript for project with college friend and another colleague
  • Hopefully get proofs for two accepted articles to finalize for publication

Other Goals

  • Hear something regarding two manuscripts under review, hopefully R&R
  • Continue working on long-term project, which requires people to look for old documents in their offices once they feel safe to return
  • Possibly submit proposal due in late April for conference in November

I'm still getting used to my reduced time and energy, but I think these are sufficiently modest:

  • Find 2-3 more panelists for annual conference panel
  • Referee a bajillion submissions to the annual conference
  • Read one big item for each of three new book sections
  • Touch up two book sections
  • Read one item for Collaboration 3

Stretch:

  • Start a new book section
  • Touch up and resubmit Collaboration 1
  • Touch up and resubmit New Paper (well, it's almost two years old, but still doing the rounds)
I know it's a genus.

Refereed six submissions while the hatchling napped (and shat). Only 35 more to go. Good enough for today!

Awwww how adorable. Baby nappies ...and crappies...but they are just soooo cute.

It's a big conference. Happily, no comments are required, only ratings.
I know it's a genus.

I'll referee a few more today, and maybe read a thing for collaboration 3.

Got to start digging into conference paper no.1 yesterday; confirmed they'll have Ppt sharing available, and thinking through the added illustrations needed.

Paper two has a bit more time to go.

Did a bit of work on a section of the book intro as well.

So, not too bad.

Four more down and one terrible reading done.

For today, I'll aim to referee another handful of submissions and read a bit more for Collaboration 3.
