I had a colleague teach an entire class with his fly open.  He was known as Zippy until that cohort of students had graduated

I will raise this. I graded for a distinguished professor in grad school. He taught EVERY class with his fly open (also while smoking a cigar). In the middle of EVERY class he would mumble an apology, and go out of the classroom for a brief time. Never once did he zip up.

First ferry was quite late, which meamt I missed the last ferry home so now I'm sleeping in the car sans hatchling (for the first time). Ugh.

So, you usually sleep in the car with the hatchling?

No doubt that would not have been fun! Did you have to sleep overnight in the car? Yuck.  My ex and BIL and I had to sleep in cars overnight at the shore once when we came home from the casino to the rented beach house to find it totally locked up and none of the ~15 other people in the house could be awakened.  Definitely not a fun time.

I did, but it wasn't so bad. We keep blankets and sleeping bags in there just in case, and there's just enough room in the back (it's an old CR-V) to almost be comfortable.
