Paper went decently and I've gotten to listen to 3 other sessions so far.

Win-win-win!

Pondering.

Resume previous ongoing work before presentations had to be finished and given - or,
Do more on presentations while they're still freshly in-mind, and prep them to go out - or,
Look over list of all works-in-progress including both streams above, pick one from each, triage- or,

Go to sleep, it's been a long week (2-3 sessions per day plus teaching regular students + classes) and sort it out later...

Rest now, more work later, it seems, for the moment...

On Friday I had an article accepted and (finally) some interest in a short piece I targeted to magazines and newspapers. Hoping to see both in print soon.

A friend just invited me to go in on a chapter with him. It'd be exciting, and is squarely in my area of dissertation expertise. But... the timeline is short, and do I even have the time for it? I'd love to do this, but haven't had more than 30 minutes or so a day to work since the hatching.

Iunno... a problem for tomorrow, I guess.

Oh! Congratulations!

Tidying up a book section today, and deciding on that offer. Might even read a bit for the August chapter, depending on how things go

I'm sorry it was a bad day.

You're also trying to do a LOT at the moment, if I understand anything at all about hatchlings and thevpretty-near constant demands they can place on your life.

And even they best of them don't sleep anywhere near the amount of time you'd need them to...

So, from me, anyway, you'd get a pass.

Grades are due in a couple of days, so research is coming back to the top of my agenda after a couple of weeks completely away from it. Here are my May goals:

  • Work on polishing up paper #1 in preparation for first submission to a journal
  • Work on polishing up paper #2 in preparation for first submission to a journal
  • Start working through data that my RAs have spent the last six months or so collecting
  • Start outlining new paper with senior colleague
  • Identify a new project to start working on - preferably something solo

Paper #1 is now under review.

Today I created most of a budget for a grant proposal.

When is it due? Were you able to submit the grant?

I am sorry that I have been incognito but I am in a grading frenzy so I have to put research activities on the backburner.

Argh, that could be frustrating sometimes. It got the best of me last year and I anticipate the same happening later this year, hence I'm focusing on all my research efforts while I still can.
