More book sectioning.

Polished up three of them, so not bad. Sometime soon I should try my hand at a new one, though.
I know it's a genus.

Hi Everyone! I survived grading and then got through all of the article, conference proposal, and chapter reviews due this month by yesterday. My other exciting news: a manuscript I wrote with a former masters student back in 2017, after seven months under review in the fourth journal, was finally accepted! Hu was SO thrilled since it took four years and hu has not yet been published (but now is excited and might consider pursuing a doctorate)! This was hu's project, still very timely, which was received well when presented in 2017, and found a home in a special issue of a journal outside of our field but it is such a good fit! It will be out in November. Yay!

One out of two ain't bad, since we spent the day running around town. Tomorrow will be better (although tomorrow I have to send in the job application for the fake search which will see me made permanent...).

Yesterday I worked on some data analysis for the special issue manuscript due 6/15. Time is limited...

May Goals!

Short-Term

  • Review 4 journal manuscripts - 3 as guest reviewer and 1 as editorial board member - and 2 chapters for academic book
  • Continue data collection with first-year colleague in my department
  • Analyze data for project with subfield colleague, manuscript due in September
  • Analyze data for special issue project due in June
  • Work on research brief based on early April conference presentation

Other Goals

  • Hopefully get proof of accepted manuscript to be published this summer
  • Hopefully get a decision on manuscript under review for more than six months after bugging editor three weeks ago nicely
  • Work on sabbatical application and research goals for it
  • Continue long-term project that has stalled because of pandemic

Faith786 inspired me to update this. Despite all of my efforts, I still have one journal guest review but it is not due until late June, and I got asked to review an article for another journal I am on the editorial board of, plus a revision from one of these I just reviewed (argh)! I put off the data collection with my new colleague in department til late June, and my subfield colleague started data analysis but I have to finish the special issue manuscript first. Ayiyi!
