Portland mayor not supporting rioters after a year of doing so

I don't subscribe to the NYT (and couldn't stand to given my dislike of their editorial page and their use of loaded terms in supposedly neutral news) but here's a link to something free. https://www.opb.org/article/2021/04/30/fbi-portland-police-bureau-investigating-death-threat-against-mayor/

The rioters are right about one thing, but not in the way they are thinking. The mayor needs to resign. It's too late for him to be credible in his job. He seems to never have understood in the first place what the job entails, keeping peace on the streets.
