I don't have much time today, but need to do a little more on the September Chapter. Maybe I can finish this last section? (Last not counting the conclusion.)

i can only prep theory today, but tomorrow....ah, tomorrow.

I could do more on the draft.1.Ppt but don't feel like it. I'll wait for the feedback I've requested and only fix things that need fixing (fact-checking stuff) along the way.

So, that means a return to the 13th c. article.

Diving deeper, have to pull up files, will re-read with 'new eyes' having come back from the 17/18th c. now.

Got it done! When I return to it on Monday, it's draft-polishing, which is a relief.

I am SO CLOSE to being able to finally submit #1-- did the final polish, cover letter, and various submission questions--but the submission system wants all the IRB protocol numbers (seriously?!), and this study involves secondary data analysis of multiple data sets from three institutions, so that's going to take a bit to chase down.

1. Big collaborative paper: final round of revisions and finally submit the sucker
2. Grad student #2's R&R #2 revisions (today!)
3. Recently graduated student's R&R revisions (did round 2, off to co-authors)
4. Get recently graduated student's other paper submitted (bug co-authors to get us their comments)
5. Get grad student #1's R&R resubmitted (bug her about progress on this)
6. Get CSS paper submitted (bug grad student #1 about discussion draft progress)
7. Start new paper with favorite collaborator and her student
8. Comments on other collaborator's R&R
9. Comments on other-other collaborator's paper

So, last week was rife with interferences, mandatory appointments, and necessary life/family events. I didn't get as much done as I had hoped.

But, I managed to finish the last of the secondary material for the article in 1. below and began organizing/polishing the paper. That's about all I accomplished.

Things to do week of September 19:
1. Polish and refine draft of article in progress so it can be submitted to a journal by the end of the month.
2. Keep working on conference paper primary sources, writing analyses of each one.
3. Revise book chapter.

Here's to a more productive week ahead.

Finally got #1 submitted today-- we aimed high, so it may bounce back with a desk reject, but at least it is out the door for now!
This week GS1 has promised me a draft of #6 which I will then edit/comment. Other than that, I have a virtual conference starting Thursday and need to finalize and practice my talk.

1. Big collaborative paper: final round of revisions and finally submit the sucker
2. Grad student #2's R&R #2 revisions (today!)
3. Recently graduated student's R&R revisions (waiting for final 2 co-authors to comment, revisions due to journal 9/27)
4. Get recently graduated student's other paper submitted (bug co-authors to get us their comments)
5. Get grad student #1's R&R resubmitted (bug her about progress on this)
6. Get CSS paper submitted (bug grad student #1 about discussion draft progress)

Today, I have:

  • two reports to write
  • a presentation to finish
  • September Chapter to polish

Plus teaching stuff.

Sine the computer is taking forever to update, however, I can't see how I'll do it all.
I know it's a genus.

Tweaked twenty slides, fixed dates, ref's, etc. 1/6 done.

Feeling dilettantish about returning to the article, or doing more with the book the slides feed to.

Not a luxury to be long afforded.

Re-entry can be hard.

Hmm..

I made minimal progress  chapter because of the two wasted hours this morning. Ugh. Though I did purchase a new computer. Didn't do any of the teaching things.

Today was for grading and letters of recommendation, but I do need to get my presentation ready for the conference that is quickly approaching.

Working on September Chapter today, and maybe the conference presentation if there's time.

Good progress today: it's almost in respectable shape, I fixed up five sections and wrote 680 words or so (not counting various deletions).

1 hour's reading on the article topic that needed to be done.

No work on the slides...more tomorrow, hopefully!

Just September Chapter today, since I fucked up and missed my conference presentation.

    More reading, more slide work.

I have to confess to having been distracted by the Petito case. I have this eerie, "there but for the grace of God...." feeling.

    Teaching soon, better prep now.
