Isn't there a Burmese quote, "After ecstasy, the laundry" ?

Now you just need the ecstasy part.

I'm typing more, taking a break from the Intro and writing an abstract, just to shift gears.

Two-thirds done. Back to more Intro stuff shortly.

M.

Abstract done, and 4 hours between now and my student.

2 hours each, I think, doing a) Ppt corrections now received, and to be entered; and b) more work on the Intro chapter.

I am venting now so you can just ignore my grumpiness. Just got our accepted book chapter with copyedits. The copyeditor apparently chopped 2,500 words when we were approved by the editors to have ours over some low word count (because after three revisions, we were given the word count which was ridiculously late/over a year after we began). The managing editor gave us a week to turn around our edits. All four of us who coauthored the chapter are going to a conference this week and presenting numerous times, and the managing editor works for the association which is already at the conference site. There is absolutely zero chance that anyone could do anything this week. I asked for an extension, and one of my coauthors thinks we can ignore this huge cutting down of words too because we already got permission from the book editors to have our chapter be longer. ARGH! Today I also got asked to review an IRB protocol this week and since I have no way to do that later this week, I did it a few hours after the request. I hope that is not something the office will consider "the norm." Sigh.

You've had such a run of good luck, I hope you can turn both these issues around to your advantage!

Kwell, I'll start trying to put things together a little more presentably today.

It doesn't look too bad. I added several hundred more words, although quite how many has been lost in the edits.

Yesterday after a long day of writing, I meant to post that I had written 4,000 words in three days, which is a level of efficiency I never achieve. (I'm on sabbatical, but I'm concerned about how long my kids will be in in-person school. If, as happened last year, they spend most of January to June at home, that's half my sabbatical, so I'm trying to get a year's worth of work done by December.)

Anyway, my mind was fried enough that instead of hitting "post," I apparently closed my browser.

Belated congrats!

I woke up at 2:30 AM this morning with the phone still in my hands, open to the French daily Compline service I usually read before going to bed at night, so I get it. (I'm pretty sure I turned out the lights at 11 PM, must have forgotten to turn the phone off at the same time...!)

My plan: several hours before my 4:30 student, more Ppt edits, and more book chapter typing.

I should probably double up on my expectations for myself as well; stuff can come up that blasts a hole in the best laid plans of mice, men, and writers...

Lots to do today, includingstarting to deal with yesterday's disaster. But I'll try to do some cleaning and writing on C3.

Good news: My journal article R/R from last month was officially accepted today!

That's great! Congrats!

mamselle

Yea!

My update - got nearly all the edits in on the PPt. Doubling up worked.

Lunch, then address the book chapter. Some Ppt edits will go in there, too.

4:30 student, dinner, and folk dance will round out things.

Not too bad.

Nicely done, traductio! Congrats, rota1234! That is some good progress, mamselle. I agree that I have had some pretty good luck, though I already found out for the second cycle in a row, I did not win the research award that I keep having to put materials for which is fine but a bummer. Today entails teaching, grading, and packing for my conference. I did meet with my copresenter this morning to figure out who is presenting what later this week, so that was my scholarly activity for the day.

But I'll try to do some cleaning and writing on C3.

Got more organizational stuff done, plus several hundred words. Something is taking shape, anyway. Hopefully my co-author will think so too.

Parasaurolophus

Gonna add some new content to C3. I'm not sure what, exactly, but something.
I know it's a genus.

Try to finish the new Ppt corrections.
Do more chapter work

Only managed a little today. Lots of other crap needed dealing with.
