Thanks everyone! And congrats to darkstarrynight as well!

Not sure how much time will allow, but I've got to start whipping C3 into submittable shape. The deadline's two weeks away, so I'd like to more or less have something complete in 7-10 days.

Typing.

Typing.

Typing....

Did some restructuring and added ~700 words. I want to keep working on it, but I need to do other stuff today too, so. Sigh. At least I can see it taking shape!

More C3 today. If I'm feeling ambitious and have a chunk of time for it, I'll try to integrate my contributions properly with what my coauthor wrote (currently, the connection is a little thin).

Today I am meeting with one book chapter coauthor to review the copyedits. However, it seems to me the copyeditor for this book decided to become editor, ignore the style guide (which I helped create for the organization), and completely rewrite our chapter while cutting out one-third of it. I hope we can do this all in one hour, but that is doubtful!

Yesterday, a paper I helped with a long time ago got submitted without much of my input, but I am listed towards the end of the author group. The colleague who included me said I can be more useful in the revision stage.

Got a little of that done.

Goals for the month:

  • Finish turning around paper #1 (R&R of short commentary piece)
  • Keep chipping away at paper #2 (try to get full rough draft together)
  • Get paper #3 off the ground (meeting with co-author in about ten days to put together outline)
  • Paper #4
  • Keep chipping away at invited book chapter (try to get full rough draft together)
  • Continue to make progress on ongoing data collection project (mostly by managing RA)
  • Think about new projects, including possible book projects

I've added another paper to my list (#4). This is one that has been rejected several times and that I had thought (even hoped) was dead - but my coauthor revived it, so now it is back on my plate. I read over it yesterday and made some edits. Planning to get this out to a journal over the next couple of weeks, although it is on my co-author to take care of the submission.

We got copyedits done yesterday and sent them to the other authors for review. Today I had a few virtual meetings with graduate students at other institutions interested in my research, which is kind of fun. I just got copyedits back on the forthcoming article with a former student of mine, which is exciting. For the next book chapter, I asked the other authors to meet so we can decide who is doing what before edits are due 12/1, since they worked on it in the book's first edition and now I am part of the author team. I do not want to duplicate any efforts.

The venting gives the details on why no typing happened today.

More C3 today. A little needs writing, a lot needs integrating.

Spent a number of hours yesterday beginning work on the R/R. It needs work in each section of the paper. I'm aiming to resubmit in two weeks.
