More C3 today. A little needs writing, a lot needs integrating.

Wrote another 700 words, but didn't do much integrating between sections.
I know it's a genus.

Again, I don't normally work on weekends, but this needs to get finished up soon. So I'm going to work on C3 a bit today.

Back to typing.

Also trying to frame a way to put some of this work in a context that can be shared online, or in some other way, as well as publication.

Pondering options while typing and (now, some) editing.

Got more typing done and discovered that several things I thought were for this chapter are for the next one, so i have less to do to finish up this chapter and start editing it.

Might even get the rest typed in tomorrow...hmmm...what will that feel like?

Added almost 1000 words today, and did a little tidying along the way to push it all a little more in line with the prize topic.

A titch more C3 today, as time allows.

Added another ~800 words, to just about finish off all the content I was contributing. It still needs a conclusion and some integration, but it's a paper!

Last week went pretty well. I made progress on the book chapter, and I started revisions for my R/R.

This week, October 17th, my plan is to only work on the R/R so I can get it back to the journal ASAP.

Have a good week everyone.

mamselle

More 5yping, nearly done, editing started soon.

Consulting with my writing consultant this week, hope to have a draft ready soon, and two other nearly-dones ready-to-discuss, too.

It's a day for integration and de-fragmentation.

I submitted book chapter copyedits today so now it is with the proofreader. Despite my grouchy reaction to the copyeditor, we were able to retain many of our words and get quite close to the very low word limit imposed upon us a year into this work. The book is due out a year from now, but it will be nice to get this out of the way.

Tomorrow I am meeting with the book chapter coauthors due 12/1 to find out who is doing what.

Wednesday I am meeting with my former student to finalize copyedits on our article due this week, anticipating the article with be published next month.

I have a lot of assignments to grade for all of my classes, so I am little behind on getting to edits to the manuscript from my presentation two weeks ago, and that might get delayed further as one of my parents is visiting next week.

My two student research assistants actually worked together on more digitization work last week without me and are making amazing progress. I am really excited about that long-term project!

Students who take initiative! Good for you.

I'm still typing. Like the tortoise, I'm getting closer....

Goals for the month:

  • Finish turning around paper #1 (R&R of short commentary piece)
  • Keep chipping away at paper #2 (try to get full rough draft together)
  • Get paper #3 off the ground (meeting with co-author in about ten days to put together outline)
  • Paper #4
  • Keep chipping away at invited book chapter (try to get full rough draft together)
  • Continue to make progress on ongoing data collection project (mostly by managing RA)
  • Think about new projects, including possible book projects

Paper #4 has been submitted.

Today I'm meeting for a second time with my co-author on paper #3.

Paper #2 is with co-author. I hope we have a draft together by the end of the month, but that is out of my hands. In any case, we should have a rough draft ready soon.

Finished a big task related to the data collection project and now bringing on an additional RA to help with next set of tasks.

It's a day for integration and de-fragmentation.

I probably won't have time today, but if I do, then more of this.
