Scheduled another interview for the new study before the conference proposal deadline!

Revisions submitted and fingers crossed.

3 months behind on next article: need to find a place for it and finish writing.

So sorry, DarkStarrynght.  That happened to me a few years ago and I was awfully bummed about the loss of time. Best wishes for the next round.

My goals this month:

Conference paper:

  • Finish draft
  • Revise draft
  • Finish handout
  • Edit draft

Dissertation:

  • Prospectus: update for distribution
  • Chapter 1: begin revising
  • Chapter 2: 4,000 more words (for ~8,500 total)
  • Chapter 3: read some of primary source V

Test-drove the conference paper with my advisor this morning; his feedback was positive. Now to do some more secondary reading and prepare for possible questions. I'm calling the draft complete, though it needs a bit of editing.

I've added one item to the dissertation list: I need to update my prospectus to make it align with what I've actually written. (It hasn't been formally distributed to the department yet, or it wouldn't matter.)

I'll either finish off another section today, or come  close.

Pumped out about 1200 words. Just a few small last details; I should be able to finish this section tomorrow morning.
I know it's a genus.

I'll finish off the section I nearly finished yesterday, and start a new one.
I know it's a genus.

Thanks for the encouraging words, colleagues! As some sort of cosmic polar flip, after the rejection on Sunday, I got an acceptance on Monday for a different manuscript!
I scheduled another participant interview before the conference proposal deadline today.
Also, the journal I edit came out with an issue today, so I am excited for all of the great scholarship people can read! I am staying optimistic.

Sounds like you are rockin' it.
I'm getting ready to design a follow-up study to one I just finished. I haven't been this excited about a project  in 5 years, and I'll be working with a colleague I value.

Well done, darkstarrynight!

Finished that section, did significant work on a new one, and a bit of work on another new one.

I fell off the wagon today.

Back on tomorrow.

Giddy-up!

It would be amazing if I could finish another section today. I don't think I'm close enough that it's in the cards, but I'll settle for being close.

Thanks, everyone! I scheduled yet another interview today before the conference proposal deadline, so I will have substance to put in a last minute proposal in a few weeks!

Wrote five or six hundred words, and mostly sorted out what needs to go into the annotated biblio. So: I'm just a few hours away from finishing this section!

I don't see how I'll manage to get everything done by my (hard) deadline of May 1, however. Ugh. I've been ramping up production pretty steadily, but there's not a ton more room to ramp.

Article on hold for the moment; this weekend (starting tomorrow AM, actually) I'm doing the "PowerPoint beauty show" to get feedback and suggestions on the completed Ppt.

Such as it is, such as it may become....

Other things will be revived in due course.

I submitted a short article, yesterday. It's amazing what can happen if I make research a priority. Now, if only I can figure out why I'm so behind on grading . . . . .

Parasaurolophus

I won't have much time today, but I'll peck away at that section. It would be amazing if I could just finish it...
