Beavered away until it was time to teach.

Might have a few brain cells left after dinner to do a bit more.

At least the far end of the writing tunnel is in view.

Finishing that section and starting the next. I've wasted enough time already this morning!

I did those things, but not enough--I was somewhat sabotaged, and was only able to put in around half my usual time, maybe a little less.
I know it's a genus.

I just need to read today, but expect my time to be significantly curtailed again. Sigh.

I admit, I am struggling. Yesterday I was in the middle of a video meeting and got a call from one of my book coauthors. Hu told me our other coauthor had died. It was an absolute shock to both of us. We had just set up a meeting with each other to write the foreword for the book's Japanese translation next week. Hu sent me what happened last night, and it was a tragic accident. I was supposed to lead a webinar for prospective students last night but my department head did it for me. This weekend I am going to my mentor's memorial service. It is just too much, but I do not have any time to process or grieve.

I am SO sorry for your loss.
God help us, it's not easy.

Darkstarrynight, I am so sorry for your loss. Be gentle with yourself.

mamselle

My strongest sympathies.

That is horrible, and I'm very sorry you're having to deal with it, and that your late co-author/mentor will miss the final pleasure of seeing the work through, just when the project was coming to fruition.

All good thoughts. Take very good care of yourself.

I managed to sneak enough time to read three articles, which is better than expected but not very good.

I am so sorry to hear of the sudden passing of your mentor. Best wishes for you this next week.

Last month's revise and resubmit is finally sorted and in.

This month, I return to Next Monograph, to:

- incorporate remaining author
- polish this three-chapter section of the book (1st of 3)
- submit with proposal to selected publishers

Today-all-day is for the article.

Hear that, brain?

No distractions!

I don't expect any time at all today, but if I do have some, I'll read.

Not exactly a distraction, but....

Someone who's done me a great many favors has a chapter that needs editing, it's in my line of work, and it was sent quite awhile back, before I realized it was a work-in-progress, not an earnest towards a possible project.

So, will try to finish it up this AM, and still get some more done on my article this afternoon and tomorrow.

Sic transit the best of intentions--but this is for a truly good reason, so...la vie, c'est comme ca....to mix linguistic cliches...
