Unexpected surprise of the day: I had an article published today!

Hey, that's excellent news, congratulations!!
I need this grant approved...

Only gonna work during the second nap today, so don't expect to accomplish much save maybe reading two.
I know it's a genus.

I submitted a conference proposal last Fall for a January conference but it was moved to May, so I just found out the proposal was accepted! This is for the study discussed in article that came out this week, which I figured would have been published after the presentation. Whatever though, I will take it!

Ya-hooee!

Just got all the footnotes cleaned up on the first pass. Another pass will be necessary, and the text is next (had to take a break from the text, so footnotes was a good side-step).

Teaching at 4:30, prep now.

Productive week so far, have most of the day tomorrow, after errands, so the text might get a very good weeding, as well.

Nothing today, alas.

Visitors today, I don't expect to accomplish much either. I can ill afford the delay, but, well.

Rainy, cold, wet, so no errands (tomorrow will be better for those) but I HAD to finish the 'challenging' New Yorker crossword first, and have lunch, and...so, now I'm starting, but hope to get a lot done, since I can go until late tonight if I wish.

Got a good chunk done today and have a good chunk laid out for tomorrow.

Woot!

Last week was pretty productive. I completed a fair amount of writing/research and also spent a good amount of time on job market things.

Goals for the week of March 13:

1. Continue with steady work on the journal article. I really want this ready for submission within a month.
2. Finish up reading and note-taking on primary source texts for book 2 chapter (will finish this week).
3. Work through very long potential primary source addition for book 1 chapter revisions (I keep neglecting this project).
3. Work through a short text and then start revisions on book 1 chapter.

Goals for the week of March 20:

1. Finish a solid draft of primary source analysis on journal article and begin structuring the argument with contemporary sources/ideas. (hoping to submit in 3? weeks).
2. Write analyses of primary sources for book 2 chapter (notes have already been taken on these sources).
3. Restructure and begin adding new primary source analysis for book 1 chapter revisions.

Work is flowing, but I'm certainly putting more pressure on myself to accomplish more in the rest of the semester and summer. Fall teaching load may significantly decrease research time. This is still TBD.

Catching up today. Gotta write a bunch.

I've been terrible about checking in on this thread - too busy with teaching and meetings. Anyway, I've made some progress on papers 1 and 2, which are my priorities this month, and now they are in the hands of my co-authors. Book proposals are also inching along and, so far, no R&Rs or rejections in March (I have several things under review, so perhaps April will bring responses from at least one journal).

March Goals:

  • Make progress on paper #1 with colleague
  • Make progress on paper #2 with colleague
  • Make some progress on two book proposals
  • Deal with R&Rs or rejections that come my way

Stretch goal:
Get new paper off the ground

Nope. Had less than an hour, wrote a couple hundred. Ugh.

OK, after yesterday, may just have a bit more to get through to get everything in the place it goes pre-distillation.

Student at 5.

Here's hoping.
