Today-all-day is for the article.

Hear that, brain?

No distractions!

M.

Not too bad, editing done, it was instructive and interesting and I got about 2000 duplicate words out of the document, so I think it's in better shape for its encounter with my editorial flea-comb.

M.

Not exactly a distraction, but....

Someone who's done me a great many favors has a chapter that needs editing, it's in my line of work, and it was sent quite awhile back, before I realized it was a work-in-progress, not an earnest towards a possible project.

So, will try to finish it up this AM, and still get some more done on my article this afternoon and tomorrow.

Sic transit the best of intentions--but this is for a truly good reason, so...la vie, c'est comme ca....to mix linguistic cliches...

I don't expect any time at all today, but if I do have some, I'll read.

Managed to read two and three quarters.
I know it's a genus.

Oops, goofed up the quote function.

Anyway, it's done and I'm giving it a quick read-over now before sending it off; back to my own article this afternoon.

Goals for the week of March 13:

1. Continue with steady work on the journal article. I really want this ready for submission within a month.
2. Finish up reading and note-taking on primary source texts for book 2 chapter (will finish this week).
3. Work through very long potential primary source addition for book 1 chapter revisions (I keep neglecting this project).
3. Work through a short text and then start revisions on book 1 chapter.

Have a good week everyone!

Wrote a few hundred, read about 3.75 or so. I won't finish tomorrow, but I'll come close.

Today, I'll come as close to finishing this section as I can. I'm falling well behind my production schedule--I'll still finish by the hard deadline, but may not have much time to fix things up. =/

The person whose article I edited liked it, so that's good.

Today's PM student cancelled, so I have a whole open raft of hours after lunch to make up the time.

And I can now ask the person whose article I edited to look over mine when it's done without any qualms...

Win-win....

Got a few more edits on my own work done.

More to do.

In three hours I have a hard-stop booking for dinner and a meeting.

Excelsior!

Thank you everyone for your kindness. The memorial service for my mentor yesterday was very nice. A lot of people besides me came in from out of state, so I saw people hu brought together, and even met people I admire that hu wrote with and/or I have cited. It was really incredible to see hu's influence with just the people who were able to come.

I received information about my coauthor's memorial service but I will be going to a conference that weekend, and it is also in another state. I am a bit overwhelmed at all that is happening, so my research is not really the focus lately. Today I finished grading and because of Spring Break, none of my classes will have anything due so I do not have to grade next Monday, yay! I got no showed by a doctoral student who asked for a meeting today, and since hu did not respond to my concerned emails, I finally had to text the student and learned hu thought we were meeting next week, even though hu sent the invite with date, time, and zoom link for today. I have done that before...we are all human.

I am at a regional conference, my first of the year. I drove to another city today and it begins this evening. I present tomorrow. When I arrived, I roamed around town and did some shopping at stores my town does not have. My spouse stayed home since hu kindly traveled with me to the memorial, and we had a long drive home yesterday.

mamselle

I'm glad you were able to make it to your mentor's service, and to the conference.

Keep taking good care of yourself.

Might have managed it with another hour, but alas. Wrote about 1500 words. I'll finish as early as I can tomorrow.
