Had a root canalized this morning (thanks, pandemic!),so the day is mostly shot thanks to going to town. Some writing and maybe reading would be good.

600 words and 4.5 articles. That's acceptable progress.
I know it's a genus.

Parasaurolophus

I'll try to finish the section today.
I know it's a genus.

Gnawing away at that paragraph....thanks for the metaphor, Para!

(I didn't realize dinos had dentists. Do you bend down or do they stand on a firetruck ladder to reach your molars?)

They rappel up and down. Most dinos have infjnitely replenishing teeth, but I'm a maladapted mutant.
I know it's a genus.

Just reading for a new section today.

Try to really get all the highlit lookups in the article resolved. Today.

Start the first boil-down pass.

If completed, start a second revision, hopefully to goal length/word-count.

Other tasks if possible after that.

I have nothing but meals to interrupt me. No excuses.

Just reading for a new section today.

I read 4.25 articles, but they were really long and just gruelling (both tough and boring). And there are seven more like them to go. Ugh.
I know it's a genus.

There is a very lumpy draft, still needs work, but all the highlit stuff is either untangled or very close to it, and the boil-down has commenced.

Whew. One plateau down, three more to go, but this was the (I hope) biggest one.

If I can bring myself to it, I'll do another pile of this awful reading today. I couldn't manage anything this morning--I'm just too sad about sending Big Cat away--but at some point this afternoon I'll be trapped with a sleeping hatchling, so I won't have much else to do.
I know it's a genus.

Oh, yes, yes, yes, sorry it's so hard.

I remember walking into my apartment about a week after my last kitty had died, and starting to talk to her, before I realized she wasn't there, and never would be, again.

They really do claim huge chunks of our hearts and minds.

Can you at least teach the hatchling to sit in your lap and purr? Or read for you?

Hatchlings should be good for something....

The trouble is that our working arrangement was that I only work on the book while the hatchling sleeps on me, and Big Cat always kept us company. There's really no compartmentalizing or avoiding the hole, I'm afraid.

I'm a little broken today, but I did finish reading that godawful-boring mega-article. Only a few more of the same left.
I know it's a genus.

Parasaurolophus

Gotta do a spot of conference refereeing today, and try to work through more of the dreadful boring crap.
I know it's a genus.
