Come, fill the Cup, and in the fire of Spring
Your Winter-garment of Repentance fling:
The Bird of Time has but a little way

If you are a decent student, you will not have to worry about getting a job, no matter what campus you're at.

Tell that to the gazillion people writing about the gig economy........

And I have four kids—three are in college, and I hope they get jobs. But it shouldn't be the primary focus, because they could get jobs without going to college.

What kind of reality do the authors inhabit? Getting a job seems like a trivial exercise to them.
It takes so little to be above average.

I think they are correct, though.  There are stats out there comparing major and job placement.

Any good points to be made are lost in the overwhelming privilege and complete lack of awareness to what the world of job seeking and working looks like for most people, at least in the U.S.

In the US of A, recessions and black male teenagers aside, it has been easy to find a job. What is hard is finding a job with all the characteristics, including income, one wants.

The article's premise seems somewhat befuddling. One would have thought that one must learn in order to earn. No?
That's not even wrong!

That's not really what the authors are concerned with.

They should write a companion piece explaining to graduates how to find those ubiquitous jobs that are free for the taking.
It takes so little to be above average.

You've been doing really well, Marshy.  Watch the backsliding.

The glib way they pass off finding jobs (decent ones, apparently) is irresponsible at best, delusional at worst. If it were that easy there'd be many fewer complaints, even about student debt. Easy-to-find well-paying jobs would make loan repayment no big deal.
