Handling career regrets

 I am retired so I look back on 2 careers with regret that cannot be changed. Careers are finished.
  I learned that you can do everything you are asked and more, follow the rules, be conscientious, go on interviews and still fail...still be frustrated. This is true for all work and life goals. Other people with less talent may and do succeed. Or it was timing or personality.

Some people with no regrets have low expectations or aspirations. They took  no risks--and lived life on that level. I know people like that.  Or they use sour grapes.
I worked in highly competitive fields with 2 advanced degrees and knew it would be challenging. And so my "dues" are paid but I cannot afford another life goal.

   If you have regret about only 1 area of life (career, family, personal) that is not too bad. You could have regrets in all three!
