I'm prepping the next list, will bring it forward shortly, but thought it mete and appropriate to open the April lists forthwith!

Here's to all of us!

April will be hellish:

  • Write 7 sections.
  • Group sections into five parts to fit with rest of series.
  • Write intros for each of the parts.
  • Write a brief introduction.
  • Referee one paper (two, if I can manage it).
  • Write an REB report.
  • Update summer syllabi and submit for approval.
  • Newsletter editing
  • Taxes (not research, I know, but...).
I know it's a genus.

Today I should:

  • Work on taxes.
  • Start a section.
  • Write up some of my first referee report.
I know it's a genus.

April Goals (besides maintaining warm weather please)

  • Finalize rejected manuscript with student and colleague and submit to different outlet
  • Start and finish conference proposal due mid-April
  • Analyze data from new study and work on presentation for June conference
  • Work on presentation for May conference
  • Continue working on long-term project in preparation for my sabbatical focused on it this Fall

I am trying so hard to say no to new projects. Someone reached out to me yesterday that met me last week at the conference and since hu's idea was vague, I told them to wait until 2023 to ask me about collaborating.

OK, so...April goals:

1. The article-in-process needs a final full revision to be finished. Then send to friendly-readers, add their notes, and submit.

2. The updated short-term Ppt is done; I started a run-through rehearsal for speakers' notes this AM To be given Monday PM upcoming.

3.  The Ppt for 4/29, using two earlier resources strands (verbal & visual) to be blended, explicated. Online resources found yesterday.

4. Book review for earlier blog-post group, due July 1 is started and book in hand; will read after 1-3, which have priority, are done.

5. The article due Aug 1, bumped up to a better journal, needs pre-submission work to their standards; did some; find resources later.

6. Find new IT support person to work with for posting the Ppt, either as a podcast, teaching series, online course, or a combo.
Post it so it can be seen, keep taking notes on others' ideas on other channels.

7. The book chapters tied to the above have been superceded given the above deadlines; still to be done; keep list for later, for now
    a. Finish typing in all the hand-written analysis from readings for Intro and Chpt 1, the two chapters I'll submit on query
    b. Go through Intro and Chpt 1, put in order
    c. Send out to friendly readers for input, revise, and re-revise again.
    d. Do query letter; send chapters to #1 choice, see what happens.
    e. (Probably) Repeat, rinse, repeat until I get a bite (hopefully earlier on the list rather than later)

Keep moving along. Get the article done! It has a home, it's not an orphan: timely completion worth aiming for.

Don't do any more Ppts until end/April; don't take long but can't do the distractions with Apr. 29th looming.

Excelsior (onwards and upwards) still...

  • Write up some of my first referee report.

Referee report done and sent, section started (set myself up, read one and a half), and taxes nearly done (alas, I'll have to call the federal government and be on hold forever for one form). I even did a quick spot of copy editing.
I know it's a genus.

I'm swamped with teaching for the next month, but I hope to do the following:
- Make progress on paper #1 with colleague
- Make progress on paper #2 with colleague
- Revise and resubmit book chapter
- Revise paper for late-April workshop/conference - maybe submit to journal as well

Stretch goals (these will take center stage this summer):
- Get two new papers off the ground
- Make progress on book proposal

I'll also need to deal with R&Rs or rejections that come my way

Going to town, so reduced work opportunities today. Gotta read, though.

Got more done yesterday; have ideas for the PPt, and will work on those a bit now before online church, and then later this afternoon, as well as the article.

One of those sort-of "work up with the idea in mind" things led to a probable structure for the PPt and 4/29 article, so I'm glad it was gestating...

I should write a bit, and read a fair bit more. Ideally, I should finish this section tomorrow...

I only wrote about 100 words, but I did read 6 articles, which is all I had left to read for the section. Fingers crossed for the writing process tomorrow.

Gotta finish my taxes, and try to finish this section.

Today was swamped with meetings and grading, so tomorrow I will be working on two of the items on my goals list.
