More editing, writing, and reading today. I'd like to come as close to finishing this section as possible.
I know it's a genus.

Finished the section, which is great! I'm now 92% done the book!

Forsake the foolish, and live; and go in the way of understanding.

Reprove not a scorner, lest they hate thee: rebuke the wise, and they will love thee.

Give instruction to the wise, and they will be yet wiser: teach the just, and they will increase in learning.

Thanks!

Gotta read for a new section today, maybe do a little Newslettering.

After lunch, three hours' work on the article, then teaching.

I'm probably going to take the rest of the week to get the Ppt in more defined shape, since the 29th approacheth--gulp--soon.

At least the article is in good-enough shape I can let it simmer on the back burner for a bit, without serious loss of brain-cell continuity.

I think...

Got a page winnowed out.

Teach in one hour.

Read six. Oof. Even wrote a tiny bit.

Edit: I also read a third of another paper I agreed to referee. It's good!

Hi! I'm new here, but my goal is to jumpstart my dormant research/scholarship. I'm NTT and in the humanities.

Today I wrote a CFP for a panel I will chair and present at in November. I wasn't even chairing the panel until today, and then I was, and I wrote the CFP in about 30 minutes. It's not bad!

I've been trying to set ambitious but manageable scholarship goals for this year. Currently aiming for 2 conference presentations and turning at least one previous conference paper into a submitted article. Maybe start another article based on a class i am teaching this summer in May-June.

I had been considering a third conference paper, but that seems crazy and overly stressful. Better to get another article started.

whistle_nutz

Oh, and my April goals are:

1) Start revision of conference paper. At least 1000 new words.
2) Read for paper proposal for one conference and submit by end of month.

More ambitious goals to come for May, i.e., complete draft of revised conference paper.

Congrats, Parasaurolophus and welcome, whistle_nutz!

Unfortunately, I made the big mistake of having assignment deadlines for all of my courses this week, so I am focused on grading. I will have to pause research activities this week unless I hear anything from my colleague and student about manuscript progress as I am third author and will do whatever they tell me once they finish their work.

mamselle

Glad things are going as forward as they can go for all (dsn, you will be able to return,  refreshed, after the grading is done, so not to worry...right?)

I'm worried about not doing any work on the article, it goes cold so easily if ignored for more than a couple days.

I'm thinking I might need to do a tiny bit of work on it daily, just keep a tight rein on the time and focus on the paper overall.

Dubious, but will ponder overnight and see what I wake up with.

G'night, all!*

*Exasperated: Auto-corrupt kept trying to turn my sign-off into "Gunfight"!

I caught something (not covid), and feel like crap. Still, I should Newsletter and do some writing and reading.

Sorry to hear you're under-the-weather!

Masks are, indeed, useful against colds, I haven't had one in 2 years, now.

My plan: I hr, article
     Lunch.
   3 hours, Ppt
   Student prep, dinner, folk dance

Feel better, Parasaurolophus!

I am anxiously waiting since my revised manuscript had a status change on Friday from "awaiting reviewer scores" to "awaiting editor decision." Every time I hear my email ding I get excited so I hope we hear (good) news any day now.
