Argh I feel so behind

May Goals (besides maintaining warm weather please)

  • Finalize rejected manuscript with student and colleague and submit to different outlet
  • Analyze data from new study and work on presentation for June conference
  • Create presentation for May conference
  • Continue working on long-term project in preparation for my sabbatical focused on it this Fall
  • Finalize revision due this week
  • Finalize revision due next week
  • Finalize revision due in three weeks

I got my second revision submitted last night and my May conference presentation slides in today! This weekend I plan to finish up the rejected manuscript. Next week I am working on the third revision with my coauthor and will continue analysis of the data for the June conference presentation. Well done, darkstarrynight!

Managed some of that. More today; I'd like to finish.

I think I've finished all the revisions. I'll write up the changelog tomorrow and we'll resubmit Saturday.
I know it's a genus.

Writing up the changelog today.
I know it's a genus.

mamselle

I never heard it called that before, but as soon as I saw the word, I knew what you meant.

Interesting.

I'm still absorbing medieval stuff from so many wonderful papers!

Yeah, it may well be entirely idiosyncratic!

Done and resubmitted!

Parasaurolophus

While he sleeps today, I'll make a start on my revisions for that chapter. And I'd like to finish designing a new course, too.

Did it!

Parasaurolophus

I'll tap away at those revisions today. And say 'no' to an invitation with too near a deadline (since I have no extant paper to offer).
I know it's a genus.

mamselle

OK, starting back on the wagon this week after a banquet of offerings last week.

1. Finish MS article
2. Keep going on book review
3. Revisit Aug 1 article for amendments and get going on those.

Meantime, maybe: a couple of interesting possibilities arose in the course of the conference.
4. Think about those for fall.
5. Revisit previous work in various half-done states and see if anything else would fit there as well.

Still need to pull last month's listings out and update those, since a couple are now done, but lunch first.

Teaching today, so just a tiny bit of revising will get done.

I should also say 'no' to a new invitation.
I know it's a genus.

No.

Only very minor revisions were attempted.

Submitted revision #3 today! I worked on the rejected manuscript on Saturday and my coauthors both responded that they would finish it up this week. The student graduated and is now very motivated to get this in before they move to another state for a doctoral program. I am SO relieved that all of my manuscript revisions got submitted! This week I will work on data analysis for the presentation next month.

Need to attempt some big fixes today.

May goals (in order of importance):

  • Finish revising paper #1 with colleague and submit to journal
  • Finish and submit NSF grant proposal
  • Get paper #2 off the ground
  • Spend some time sifting through data collected over the last year and figure out what to do with it. Use to polish paper #3 and/or to start working on a book proposal. If the former, then resubmit paper#3
  • Chat with respective colleagues about if/how to move paper #s 4 and 5 forward
  • Quickly revise and submit rejected manuscript
  • Make updates to book chapter following minor comments from editor

Stretch goals:

  • IRB for new project (if funding request is approved sooner than later, then this moves up the priority list)
  • Deal with any rejections or R&Rs that come my way (if rejections/R&Rs do come, then this moves up the priority list)

Crossing one thing off the list and adding two new tasks

Lo, have I missed y'all and the accountability.

May:

Finish the overdue piece.
Figure out a reasonable summer plan once the grading is done.
Finish spending the grant money.
Meet with collaborator 1 (ongoing)

Good luck all.

And now there's a new June deadline.

And the August project deadline that I forgot about.

Maybe a proposal for a conference.
