OK, new month, ongoing goals:

Article B - Due/turn in today
Article A - Return to amendments, finish, submit (known target, requested)
Article C - Likewise, fix, find it a home, send it there (a couple options for starters)

Other stuff after those are done:
  Return to Ppt dissemination project
Return to Book 1, Intro + Chpt 1
Transform latest Ppt/paper prsntn to article, find a home (good chance for this one)

More after that: triage list t/b revised

Finish editing book manuscript, send to press.

Hmm. I suppose it'll be these:

  • Finish reading Book to Review.
  • Write review for Book to Review.
  • Make progress on my 2023 paper commitments (could make a start either on a chapter, a paper for a special issue, or both).
  • Submit application for Small Grant.

Stretch:

  • Finish up July Paper.

Today, I'll read my quota and maybe manage something else.
I know it's a genus.

September goals:

  • Make progress on paper #1 with colleague
  • Complete draft of paper #2 with colleague (conference paper due in about a week)
  • Revise and submit paper #3 with colleague to new journal
  • Revise and submit paper #4 with colleagues to new journal (lots of foot dragging on colleague's end, so not sure we'll get this one submitted, even though necessary revisions are modest)
  • Revise (solo) paper #5 for resubmission (due back to journal in late October)

September Goals

  • Work on follow-up study manuscript with coauthors
  • Prepare scholarly essay with friend to submit to identified journal
  • Continue with sabbatical project (lots of reading literature)
  • Make progress on fellowship project - preliminary report due 10/4
  • Make presentation slides for late September virtual conference
  • Review 2 manuscripts for different journals

Just the reading, plus some admin crap.

Today, I'm reading my quota and making a start on the grant application.

Goals for the month:

  • Finish revisions on paper A, due by 15 September
  • Finish creating stimuli/building experiment for project B
  • Finish segmenting stimuli for experiment C

Doing reasonably well so far! I have been going through my old code for paper A and reminding myself of how I did the analysis. All the ugly guts are actually, on revisiting, perfectly reasonable. I'm beefing up the commenting in case this paper has to go through more revisions (unlikely), but I can see what I did, and why, and it's proving pretty simple to pull out the extra figures Reviewer 1 is asking for from the various intermediate steps.

For project B, I thought I had a full day's worth of work still to do on the stimuli, but then suddenly yesterday I realized my 'yet unfinished' folder was, in fact, now finished, and simply had some old unprocessed files in it that I hadn't cleaned out. Sweet!

Grant and reading again today, I think.

We were given another extension on Article B, so I'm taking advantage of that to both finish all the stuff I was racing to do before, and see if I can do "one last search" for that individual's family name that would unlock so much else about their lives (I think).

Articles A and C can stay on hold for the moment.

It's probably overambitious, but I'd like to use my time today to read my quota (I'm very nearly done that book!), work on the grant application, and make a start on prepping the assignments and things for my courses.
I know it's a genus.

Made significant progress on the application and course setup, read my quota (and will finish the thing in a couple of days. Oof!).

Had to look up some stuff, got that done, have goals for tomorrow in mind.
