Parasaurolophus

Maybe reading later, or even proto-indexing.
I know it's a genus.

Abstract done, in, good.

This AM, unhappy tummy took over, slept it off; will restart article editing tomorrow.

Nope, no time. None anticipated tomorrow, either.
I know it's a genus.

Tracked down a bug in my code, but there's another one lurking somewhere. Words beginning with vowels are misbehaving. Tomorrow's goal is to figure out why.

mamselle

Got 2 hrs. done, tummy better, tired but should be able to do more tomorrow.

Scheduled more interviews for my fellowship project - I have one this week and three next week (on the day the report is due).

September goals:

  • Make progress on paper #1 with colleague
  • Complete draft of paper #2 with colleague (conference paper due in about a week)
  • Revise and submit paper #3 with colleague to new journal
  • Revise and submit paper #4 with colleagues to new journal (lots of foot dragging on colleague's end, so not sure we'll get this one submitted, even though necessary revisions are modest)
  • Revise (solo) paper #5 for resubmission (due back to journal in late October)

mamselle

Have 3 hours to get stuff done, after errands.

Still a bit wan, but should manage.

Meeting/phone call in a minute.

Then...go!

Why are the bugs always the result of some STUPID error? Why can't they ever be the result of something deep and interesting? Anyway, I tracked it down and things seem to be working now. Hell, I may even be collecting data by late next week!

A complimentary gift of Raid! to you!

Me: just getting started after errands.

I'm feeling a bit antsy, but there will be no more progress before October.
I know it's a genus.

mamselle

I could get a can of "Raid! For ants" for you, if that would help....

Me: No students 'til 6PM and just a short call at 11: wide-open for finishing-up time.

I've made progress on paper #3 this week, but not going to get it out to a journal before October. Ditto for paper #4, as my co-authors seem to have completely disappeared.

Found a bit more information that clears up some vexed points; adding it in and stirring.

Taking a break for phone/photo cleanup (some of which are manuscript pages, so it counts), then back to finishing the article.

September Goals

  • Work on follow-up study manuscript with coauthors
- waiting on decision from journal to proceed
  • Prepare scholarly essay with friend to submit to identified journal
- waiting on friend to find time
  • Continue with sabbatical project (lots of reading literature)
  • Make progress on fellowship project - preliminary report due 10/4
  • Make presentation slides for late September virtual conference
  • Review 2 manuscripts for different journals

The virtual conference presentation went well today! I also made a lot of progress on the preliminary report for the fellowship project which is due early next week. I will not be doing much until next month because of a roadtrip this weekend so...see you in the next thread!
