I suppose today my only goal is to finish reading that book.

Read it. Wasn't as useful as I'd hoped, but at least it didn't take very long.
I know it's a genus.

Final experiment version is deploying! Data collection to begin tomorrow!

I wanted to begin collecting in July. Oh, well.

Parasaurolophus

Got a rejection this morning. It took five times longer than any other rejection I've gotten from this journal, but at least the comments are useful. I'm also not surprised (not even by the time it took--it's a niche topic). Oh well, it was worth a shot. Dunno when I'll have the time to work on it again, though.

Today: working on the letter of reference and on re-jigging my presentation.
I know it's a genus.

October goals:
  • Finish and submit paper #1 with colleague
  • Make progress on paper #2 with colleague - I'm taking the lead on the data analysis and will probably turn to this once paper #1 has been submitted
  • Make progress on paper #3 with colleagues - ball is in colleague's court and this is low priority for me
  • Make progress on paper #4 with colleague - ball is in colleague's court and this is low priority for me
  • Make progress on R&R with colleague - due in mid-November
  • Turn around desk rejected paper

Resubmitted my R&R today.

Got the intro, lit review, and methods section written. Mulling over how to present the results.

Turned in the review I needed to do.

Made good progress on both.
I know it's a genus.

Not sure about today--I anticipate not having sufficiently free hands to write, though I may be able to tinker with the letter and presentation. Otherwise, I'd read, save that there isn't really anything that I need to be reading...
I know it's a genus.

Between teaching, prep, and meetings, I'm probably not going to get much done today, but there are a couple sentences to be fixed so I'm off to do those now.

M.
Forsake the foolish, and live; and go in the way of understanding.

Reprove not a scorner, lest they hate thee: rebuke the wise, and they will love thee.

Give instruction to the wise, and they will be yet wiser: teach the just, and they will increase in learning.

Finished te letter, minis some polish, and found some stuff to read.
I know it's a genus.

Got a good chunk edited out, better flow, more to go.

I got inspired to write a short, op-ed type piece yesterday and have been working on it today between yard work and errands. I think I may be on to something interesting, but we'll see if any popular venues feel the same way (I've had mixed success with these kinds of articles).

Have a paper with "required reviews completed" so waiting on editor. Hope it's r and r and not reject.

I am in the same situation, and all reviews have been in for over 2 weeks after a 4 1/2 month wait so I am so anxious! The abstract got rejected for the special issue, and annoyingly the editor told us to submit to a journal that is not on the correct topical area at all.

Parasaurolophus

I know it's a genus.

I'll start having a look at the copy edited book manuscript today. Fingers crossed.
I know it's a genus.

Just realized I haven't been saving one half of the dual-file systems I've been editing. Dammit. Now I have to go back and redo all the edits that didn't get saved synchronously.
