Tiny bit more indexing to be done today, I hope. It's hard to do without the page numbers, though. Sigh.

Managed a bit more.
I know it's a genus.

Parasaurolophus

Maybe indexing, definitely January reading.

Maybe indexing, definitely January reading.

Surprisingly, managed both.
I know it's a genus.

A couple of funding opportunities just came up that I should apply for. Recently I've been doing reasonably well (in my personal life, not my professional life) following the motto Chuck stuff into the void, and sometimes the void chucks something back.* Maybe I'll get lucky this year and the void will grant me a few hundred k.

Parasaurolophus

Fingers crossed, ergative!

Today I'll chuck my index and January reading into the void.
I know it's a genus.

Working on updating the lit review for my dissertation. Two articles for diss under review, one with supervisor. Three other first author articles accepted (but not part of the diss). Need to finish updated lit review, then move to overall discussion and conclusions for diss.

Supervisor got back to me about paper. I made edits. Now paper with committee. Still working on lit review.

Used my research time today to sit in on a Zoom dance research conference. Mixed results (see venting thread): Good part was, I got to present some of my work, and ask for publishing suggestions; less good...see venting thread.

Students shortly, so that might be all the brain cells I have left for the day, still, good to be in touch with other researchers and be asked to contribute at some point again.

Did some of both. Even started altering some of my materials for a job app, not that it'll make a difference.

Oh, huh, today another tiny void-chuck has finally responded to my email. That's good.

Started labeling some sound files for experiment 2. God, it's so boring. Eighteen of 64 items labeled. Maybe I'll finish tomorrow.

Parasaurolophus

More indexing, more January reading.
I know it's a genus.

Starting a serious check-through of the publishing requirements.

Gulp. It's feeling real...

More indexing, more January reading.

I also more or less finished re-jigging my research statement for the job app. Not that it'll make a difference.

Ideas for consolidation and text reduction are cropping up.

Good signs, those will be today's guides.

Today I will finish the January reading and start on some other 2023 commitment.

I've just added another, unfortunately, so maybe I should figure that out...

October goals:
  • Finish and submit paper #1 with colleague
  • Make progress on paper #2 with colleague - I'm taking the lead on the data analysis and will probably turn to this once paper #1 has been submitted
  • Make progress on paper #3 with colleagues - ball is in colleague's court and this is low priority for me
  • Make progress on paper #4 with colleague - ball is in colleague's court and this is low priority for me
  • Make progress on R&R with colleague - due in mid-November

Made progress on R&R yesterday. Today I hope to start putting together the cover letter. This is an easy revisions, it turns out, so could be fully turned around by the end of October (depending on what else pops up).
