For October, then, the realistic goal (I think) is 3,000 more words for 8,000 total. Stretch goal: 4,000 more words for 9,000 total, which would be over halfway through the chapter.

Realistic goal has now been met with three more writing sessions left in the month. Let's see about hitting that stretch goal.

Got one gnarly paragraph in much better shape.

Students now.

Two-thirds of the way through the draft. One more part of the findings and then the discussion, to go. Trying to keep up without burning out. I love the puzzle-like aspect of this but last night many of the pieces seemed to be in a very messy pile.  Today was much better.
Idea is to finish writing tomorrow and early Wednesday
Revising on Thursday and finish constructing the tables
Submission on Friday.
Fingers crossed.

I'll start having a look at the copy edited book manuscript today. Fingers crossed.

20% done. The copy editor has not introduced too many new errors, and has caught a couple small things.
I know it's a genus.

I'd like to manage at least another 20% of the copy editing today.

I'm discovering that although the copy editor has not introduced an unreasonable number of errors yet (though they have introduced several), those errors are mostly... weird. Like, the kind you expect from non-native writers, and which I wouldn't expect from someone whose grasp of English is as good as this copy editor's otherwise clearly is. I suspect some software has been applied somewhere along the way.
I know it's a genus.

Not being terribly effective this week, but if I finish preparing the sound files this week (absolutely achievable if I focus) then I'll be ready to start collecting data for Exp 2 by mid November. That would be nice.

66%. I might do a little more later, we'll see.

I take it back: the copy editor has introduced vastly more errors than they have corrected, including many basic grammatical errors.
I know it's a genus.

I'll aim to finish copy editing the copy editing today, then I can turn back to reworking my talk for November.
I know it's a genus.

Finished and sent back the copy editing, did a bit of work on the talk.

More talk work, I guess.

Think I finally nailed it down, though only practice will tell.

Polished the letter of rec, too.
I know it's a genus.

Unhappy netherplumbing.

Nothing today.

Abstract done, references properly styled, part of the conclusion left to go.

October goals:
  • Finish and submit paper #1 with colleague
  • Make progress on paper #2 with colleague - I'm taking the lead on the data analysis and will probably turn to this once paper #1 has been submitted
  • Make progress on paper #3 with colleagues - ball is in colleague's court and this is low priority for me
  • Make progress on paper #4 with colleague - ball is in colleague's court and this is low priority for me
  • Make progress on R&R with colleague - due in mid-November
  • Turn around desk rejected paper

Desk rejected paper has been submitted. Paper #3 will be submitted too, soon as my colleague has time to do the submission.

Tomorrow I will turn to paper #2.

Parasaurolophus

I'm taking the day off, so there.
I know it's a genus.
