Nope, nothing was achieved. Today was a real shit day.
I know it's a genus.

November Goals

  • Keep working on sabbatical project (I blocked specific activities to complete through early December in my calendar so now I will just embrace that I cannot finish this in my one semester off)
  • Prepare presentation and revise report for Fellowship
  • Prepare panel for conference in mid-November
  • If book proposal is approved by organization, update proposal and meet with publisher
  • Anticipating book chapter proof, turn that around for publishing

My article with subfield colleague was published yesterday, yahoo! I also finished a manuscript review yesterday and have another due soon. The fellowship report is due mid-month, and it is hard to get the team together to meet one time to revise it, but we will get it done. I have been working diligently on my sabbatical project and should be done with all of the reading of literature by next week, finally!

I'll try again today.

Managed some course stuff, and some indexing (including a rather fun index easter egg). Guess that's okay.

You've been teasing that Easter Egg...where did you hide it? What kind of egg?

Tyrannosaurus, T. Rex, Diploducas?

Or...

M.
Forsake the foolish, and live; and go in the way of understanding.

Reprove not a scorner, lest they hate thee: rebuke the wise, and they will love thee.

Give instruction to the wise, and they will be yet wiser: teach the just, and they will increase in learning.

Closer to the Sangreal, really.

I'd like to finish tidying the index, and do my teaching tasks.

Submitted my index and corrected proofs, but I'm worried the major fuckup in the proofs won't be properly corrected (/ that they won't send me a second set of proofs so I can make sure). It's just such that so much half-assery went into that cockup...

Managed to make a little progress on paper #3 today. Overall I'm pretty happy with my progress this month, especially given a lot of teaching, mild covid case, and a bit of personal and professional travel.

My monthly goals, adjusted down to account for a small pile of teaching tasks:

  • Work on Rejected Paper.
  • Resubmit Co-Authored Paper 3
  • More progress on 2023 writing commitments (ideally, get that blog post out of the way).
  • Give the conference panel talk. (Eep.)
  • If I get the page proofs, then I'll have to index as well. Sigh.

I didn't resubmit CAP3, but I did get it ready, and we targeted a special issue with a February deadline.

Not too bad, on the whole, since I had the index to complete and the page proofs to fix. I got one referee request out of the way, too. December will be better.

I got a rejection yesterday after 7+ months so I just wanted to leave that here in the November thread and forget about it!
