January goals:

  • Revise paper #1 (recently rejected) for submission to journal, with colleagues
  • Make progress on paper #2 with colleague
  • Make some progress on paper #3 with colleague - this is actually my most promising project at the moment, so I should prioritize it above the others
  • Tinker with data for possible paper with colleague (I'm skeptical this has legs, but colleague wants to pursue it, so I'll give the data another look with their suggestions)
  • Make progress on new project - book proposal, sabbatical proposal, IRB for summer fieldwork
  • Put together (and hopefully submit) article pitch with colleague for magazine article
  • Revise paper #4 with colleagues (recently rejected) and to submit to next journal

Spent the day working on new project - a little on he book proposal, a bit on the IRB docs, and I finally looked at my university's sabbatical webpage. Hoping to spend a little more time on this tomorrow after class and then to dedicate most of Wednesday.

Getting paper #4 back out is a priority as well and I am meeting with colleagues later this week to get the ball rolling - we should be able to get it out in early February if everyone is on top of it, but that is a big if.

Have to record another lecture today. Otherwise, if there's time, the R&R.
I know it's a genus.

Well, at least that got done.

R&R today, maybe mixed with a page or two of translation.

Good progress, plus five pages.

R&R work, when time allows.

500 words, and another referee criticism sort of mostly addressed, I think.

I also applied for a new job that opened up locally. Not sure whether it's actually one I want instead of this crappy one, but there's no harm in seeing.

Today, R&R and teaching stuff, mostly. Though I suppose I should read the documents for my meeting, too.

Teaching fell by the wayside, but I wrote 700 preliminary words for a new paper I'll submit to a special issue in May, which picks up on the new book I want to write (effectively meaning that I've started writing it!).

Doubt I'll have any time today, but if I do, it must unfortunately go to teaching stuff.

Article rejected yesterday, so adding that to the list - even though I won't get to it until February.

I have been working daily on my sabbatical project (even though the time is over, ha). I had to rescan something from a year ago because I made a mistake in scanner settings, so I took care of that on Friday. I finished all of my file naming and grouping except for two files that need to be reformatted. I am waiting for someone in IT to follow up with me about that.

Did a bit yesterday, will finish today and get some quizzes and essay prompts set up.

Then, maybe translating.

Alas, I'll have to make and record some kind of lecture tomorrow. Sigh.

Nothing doing today, apart from teaching stuff.
