Just my translation quota, then teaching.

February priorities:

  • Revise and submit paper #1 (solo, R&R, due mid-February)
  • Revise paper #2 and, if possible, submit to journal (solo, recently rejected)
  • Complete and submit sabbatical proposal
  • Make progress on book proposal and draft
  • Prepare and, if possible, submit IRB to conduct interviews for book project

Items on the backburner:

  • Work on proposal for short book project with colleague (this is something I will try to make at least marginal progress on, but can't prioritize it with so many other things going on)
  • Revise paper #3 and, if possible, submit to journal (with colleagues, recently rejected)
  • Paper #4 with colleague (we have a pretty solid draft, but colleague wants to make some edits at their leisure and we'll probably also wait till after an upcoming conference to submit to a journal)
  • Paper #5 with colleague (we submitted a draft to an upcoming conference, but I don't know that either of us has the will to do anything more with it until we get some feedback)
  • Paper #6 with colleagues (I made my revisions so ball in their court now)

I'm coming off a very busy couple of weeks, but managed to make some progress on paper #2 at the margins - hoping to get it out the door this coming week. Getting the IRB in is also a priority, although it will probably not be ready until early March.

Just my translation quota, then teaching.

Done and done, and made a start on a short translation project of my own, which will be done in a few months (with minimal daily attention).
I know it's a genus.

Parasaurolophus

Just the translation quota today, because there's plenty of teaching to be done.

My very kind spouse decided to help me on Sunday morning with analysis help instead of today (hu is off today). So hu re-ran my cleaned up data in their coded program and taught me some tricks in the spreadsheet that saved me hours of my life! I am very grateful to get moving forward on the analysis since my presentation at a conference is just about a month away.

Received an R&R today! I won't have time to do any substantial revising this month, but will at least look over the reviews (probably tomorrow). Adding it to my to-do list in the meantime.

Did it, even worked on my separate project a chunk.
I know it's a genus.

Parasaurolophus

Got my quota in. Will have to return to my symposium talk soon.
I know it's a genus.

Parasaurolophus

Gonna finish translating this chapter, tiuch up the grant application, then do teaching stuff.
I know it's a genus.

I contacted the IT person who has ignored my emails for three weeks. Hu answered the phone right away and said hu could help me finish up the necessary tasks or send me an email telling me how to do them. I hope to get the follow-up information soon so I can finish this repository prep. I did a small amount of work on my data to prepare for the library inputs, and read a few articles to help me prepare for analysis.

Was hoping for more time, but I got these things done, anyway.

Paper #2 is off to a journal.

I'll try to make a little progress on the IRB and book project this week or next, while also working at the margins on two of my backburner projects.

Today's pile of teaching crap is quite large, but I'd like to make headway on my symposium piece. And hit my translation quota.
I know it's a genus.

Managed to get the symposium piece into ~3000 words of order. So to speak. Mostly by cutting and pasting from other work.

I never did post my February goals, but today I finally got Chapter 3 off to my advisor. A complete dissertation draft by May is still within reach.
