I will start putting my symposium talk into slides, and hit my translation quota.
I know it's a genus.

My presentation went well today.

After a lot of foot dragging from co-authors, everything is suddenly happening at once. This c/should allow me to get three papers out the door in the next week or so. Seems too good to be true, so we'll see.

In the meantime, I've made some great progress on my book project. I have complete drafts of the proposal and of Chapter 1, and I have all the approvals I need to start collecting qualitative data to compliment the quantitative work that I've already largely put together. I'm swamped with teaching and other things at the moment, but once the dust clears and I can really concentrate I'll finalize the proposal and start shopping it around (probably in May).

Did it!
I know it's a genus.

Parasaurolophus

My main goal today is progress on the special issue contribution. But I should translate my quota too.

This is wonderful! It motivates me to get my book writing started, though I really need to write up what I just presented first.

Wrote 1000 words.
I know it's a genus.

Parasaurolophus

Gotta go to town, so just the translation quota today.

March priorities:

  • Make progress on book proposal and draft
  • Prepare and submit IRB
  • Work on proposal for short book project with colleague
  • Revise paper #1 and, if possible, resubmit to journal (with colleague, R&R)
  • Revise paper #2 and, if possible, submit to new journal (with colleagues, recently rejected)

Backburner projects:
  • Paper #3 with colleague (getting this off to a journal will be a priority in April)
  • Paper #4 with colleague (submitted to conference)
  • Paper #5 with colleagues (ball in colleagues' courts for now)

Just pushed paper #5 out the door.

Now turning to paper #1, which we have revised and now needs a heavy edit and a few rounds of proofreading.

Thank you for the support. This is my first book project, so it is a new challenge for me.

Done, and squeaked out 250 words on the special issue contribution. It's taking shape!
I know it's a genus.

Just the translation quota today, plus some progress on the symposium slides.

Skipped the slides, fixed some hangdog citations in something coming out soon. Finished reading for a referee report, too. Plus 250 words of the special issue submission.
I know it's a genus.

Parasaurolophus

I'd like to get a few hundred words in on the special issue contribution, as well as my translation quota. A bit of work on the symposium slides would be good, too. But I also have a small pile of teaching stuff to deal with...

I wrote about 850 words, so the slides fell by the wayside. But that's okay.

The special issue piece is now paper-length. It just needs a lot of polish.
I know it's a genus.

Our article did not win the best paper award at the conference, but I was really honored to be among the finalists.
