Anyone go to their high school reunions?

Just looked through FB page for my 50th HS...a few years back.  Guess I couldn't be found, though I would not have attended.  For one thing, all those people areold!  And for another, I was struck by the joviality, as if they were still at the prom.  Finally, I am again struck by why I much preferred college....and never went back to where I grew up, except to visit.

There might be one or two I wouldn't mind speaking with. Same with teachers. I found out recently that one of my older teachers from the early 80's is still living and celebrating his 90's. However, generally speaking, I avoided my 25th, and really haven't paid any attention to whether there was anything after that.

I more or less feel the same about college reunions, and I don't want to constantly hit up for money, so I don't go to those either.

If I lived in my hometown, then sure, I'd pop in for a drink to catch up with a few old pals. But to fly across the country, rent a car, and stay in a hotel? No, I'd have to pass.

I don't know that there has ever been one.  If so, I was not invited I guess.

So no, I have not gone.  I may if someone organizes one, but also might skip it.

We survived years of classes together without developing any interest in each other, so why bother? I have not been invited and would not attend.

I do find it amusing that we had a 13th, 22nd, 34th, and 42nd year reunion, rather than the traditional five and ten year intervals. Not surprising though, given the general apathy of our high school years.
