Today I cranked out my discussant remarks for next week's conference. I will have to practice keeping them to about 10 minutes when I speak.

No work today. Just used the nap time to pack for my overnight flight to the conference and evening flight back (ugh).

Conferencing today, but should get a bit of work done on the journey back. Some translating, maybe also some booking. We'll see what my energy is like.

I should be able to work in a quick visit to see some dinosaurs, too, so that's exciting.

Attended a defense today and starting reading a dissertation for an upcoming defense.

Went well, saw my dinosaurs. But after being super delayed getting there, I'm so delayed returning that I can't take the boat home tonight. Sigh.

I did translate a few pages, but I'm too tired to do much more.

Wrapping up a rough draft of Chapter 7 today. I'll polish it up and (hopefully) get to work on Chapter 8 next week. I'm cautiously optimistic that I can finish a full draft by the end of the year - minus the conclusion chapter. That'll mean drafting up three more chapters... seems a little crazy, but I am in a good zone and free of teaching or committee work through December.

Managed some 1000 words plus six (!) pages of T4. Not bad for a birthday!
