December Research Thread

December goals:

• Book #1 (solo) - finish draft of Chapter 9 and make significant progress on draft of Chapter 10
• Book #2 (with colleague) - full draft is due to the publisher in early January, so we need to be nearly there by the end of this month
• Paper #1 with colleague

Backburner projects:

• Paper #2 (with colleague)
• Paper #3 (with colleagues) - recently rejected
• Solo project - at brainstorming phase for what could be book proposal or a paper

December goals:

• Work on book (would be nice to actually finish a chapter or two.
• Finish a chapter of T5.
• Work on T4 intro.

That ought to be plenty, given how much marking I have to do. It'll be nice to get back to work after sacrificing it all to moving.

• Finalize book revisions and responses to reviewer comments by December 12

I made good progress on book revisions so far, and have this week and next to finalize them before I leave the country for break. I do not plan to do any other scholarly activities this month.

Managed a few pages of T5, which felt nice. I was three pages short of finishing the chapter, so I finished that and started the next.

So far I grabbed a book from my office and flagged pages I want to reference in my book revisions. I had five back-to-back meetings today so I have not had the time to work on revisions yet today.

Several hundred words on a new book-length project which I'll propose to a publisher next year.

I finished most of the book revisions and responses to comments today! I have one big area to address, but I am feeling positive about my progress. I also saw that my conditionally accepted manuscript with my responses to one reviewer who had some more suggestions went back to all three reviewers for the third time, argh! I hope this gets accepted soon.
