Why is worm brain so obsessed with autism?

I feel that there's a (bipartisan) swath of Americans who are obsessed with autism going back at least 20 years. That cohort has only gotten louder as awareness and understanding has risen. Given RFK's trajectory to his current position, I think he's just part of that cohort thrust into a position of irresponsible power. At least DTJ didn't tap Jenny McCarthy for that position, which seems more on-brand tbh
