May is dead, long live June!

Unless the hatchling hatches a little early, which it might, this should be my last real month of work for a while. So:

  • Polish off T4, send out the proposal.
  • Complete referee report.
  • Draft up most of invited chapter 1.
  • Start on the co-authored paper.
  • Do some admin work cleaning up our course offerings (ugh, but this needs doing very soon)

Some plugging away at B2 would be very nice, but I doubt I can swing it.

Today: T4 cleanup, proposal drafting.
I know it's a genus.

Remaining 2025 goals:
  • Book #1 (solo) - submit full draft to the publisher (due in December)
  • Book #2 - draft proposal
  • Paper #1 (with colleague A) - draft and present it at conferences in July and September
  • Paper #2 (with colleague B) - draft and submit to special issue (due in August)
  • Paper #3 (with colleague C) - finish draft and submit to journal
  • Paper #4 (with colleague F) - draft and submit to special issue (due in June)
  • Grant #1 (with colleagues G, H, I) - develop and, if we can all agree, submit proposal

June goals:
  • Book #1 - conduct interviews and incorporate interview data
  • Paper #3 - finalize and submit to journal
  • Paper #4 - finalize and submit to journal

Stretch goals:
  • Book #1 - format for publisher
  • Book #2 - work on proposal

Did some cleaning up, drafted the proposal.
I know it's a genus.

Nothing today, just a meeting with my usual co-author to discuss B6 and maybe even B7.
I know it's a genus.

June Goals
  • Continue with new research study: data collection and analysis

This is a light June. I was able to schedule and conduct a new interview today for the study, and have one other scheduled for this week.I am waiting for another participant to schedule as well. I am not formally presenting at the conference I am going to next week, just helping with research consultations. The grant I applied for has this language "successful submissions will hear by June 1" so since I did not hear anything, I am assuming it was unsuccessful. That seems weird, but I am not sure how else to interpret that. I can still work on this project without the funding, so I will see if the collaborator still is interested.

Pre-orders for my book went live today!

Did that. B7 is shelved for now.

Also started drafting a quick pitch for my preferred press for T4.

Bit of T4, some more proposal work. Then I have to start on cleaning up those courses.

Did some of all of the above. The T4 intro is now clean, and only small things remain in the text itself, barring a last run-through later.

Also, my co-author had already generated an entire proposal for the new book from the other day, minus a few small bits I have to plug in. Wow.
I know it's a genus.

Parasaurolophus, you have a great co-author

I'm waiting on my dilatory copyeditor to finish up stuff for book 2. Good indexer, not a good copyeditor, and not dealing with her again.

Book 1 was going to go to the printer, but I noticed they spelt my husband's last name wrong in the dedication.  So, glad I caught that and now it is at the printing house.  Publication in October.

Was going to do a collaboration with someone for another book, but after 8 months of research, the topic was getting pretty dull, so we decided not to proceed.  Might spin off the material into a shorter piece.

Yes, he's very good at being on the ball and not dropping it.

Today, T4 cleanup.

Time may be short today, I'm not sure. If so, then I just want to finish the identifying notes in T4. If there's more time, I'd like to make a dent in locating the quoted material, and maybe start reading for a referee report and do a bit more course housekeeping.

Forsooth, my copyeditor has made progress! I might actually be able to get this to the press BEFORE my vacation later this month!  Hurray!

Time was short. Hatchling woke extremely early and didn't go back to sleep. Almost but didn't quite finish the identifying notes.

Bit more time today. Will finish the notes, do a bit of the course stuff, and start on the refereeing.
