Quote from: Minervabird on June 14, 2025, 05:44:35 AMWednesday, Thursday, Friday, did 50 pages of proofing the book length edition. each day.  A lot of looking at manuscript and checking the transcription, rinse and repeat.  Luckily, so far  nothing major..just typos, a couple words. Only 550 pages left to go! (Urgh).  That said, I will be mighty glad to get this edition out of my hair.

Did another 50 pages today and happily realised that I've already done 250 pages of the rest in previous checks with a colleague. So that cuts the work down a lot. So, 250 pages left.

Quote from: Parasaurolophus on June 16, 2025, 06:48:36 AMNot going to have much time today, so reading for the referee report, I guess.

Only a little bit, but I did a little work on the book proposal and sorted my benefits allocation and an expense report that had to go through a very confusing system (where the instructions only loosely track what you have to do).
I know it's a genus.

I'd like to finish that bloody reading for the referee report today.
I know it's a genus.

Sun_Worshiper, congrats on the R&R! I have delayed working on the minor revisions so I could finish a book that needed to be returned the library today. I am traveling tomorrow so I will not be able to get anything done.

Another 50 pages today, 150 to go.  After 6 days of proofing all day, I am getting tired.

Tidying up the T4 proposal today, and maybe also working on one of the chapters I'll owe next year.
I know it's a genus.

Did the former. It's ready to go out (I'll send it Friday or Monday, though).
I know it's a genus.

Parasaurolophus

I'd like to work on that chapter, although I'm feeling the pull of converting my last conference talk into a paper...

Did a spurt. So only 50 more pages to go.  I will do my best, but I'm starting to get ocular migraines, and think it is about time just to turn this beast in.  it has been checked twice, and the notes copyedted by an outside party and me, so....  I hope by tomorrow afternoon to send it to the publisher, and then I can have my vacation next week guilt free.

About 800 words of the new paper, 200 of the chapter (but I also sorted out my notes on the subject from previous publications).

Book 2 with its corrections is now submitted to the press.  Yippeee! The summer beckons. I am making myself as lazy as possible.

For my part, I'll send the proposal today and work on the chapter, but time is short.
