I'm fine, was out again this AM, chilly but comfortable once well-bundled.

But I'm thinking of those in Colorado whose homes were lost in the recent fires, swept along by high-level winds.

Warm with light rain. Lovely campfire last night with some slight mist.  Has been grey for several days though and I'll be glad to see the sun even though the price will be plummeting temps. Actually got an insect bite on a hike on Thursday. We do need our customary freezes

Rained here most of the day with more overnight.

Langue_doc

It rained all day and night yesterday, and now we're expecting snow tomorrow, with the highs 25 degrees colder than today.

Parasaurolophus

The rain, it freezes. The snow, it ices.
I know it's a genus.

We had a hot, sweltering New Year's Eve and Day.  Then on Sunday the bottom dropped out of the thermometer.  By evening it was in the upper 20s (very rare around here), and got lower still overnight.  We had snow flurries.  The previous day's rain (fortunately not too stormy) prevented any snow from sticking or freezing on the roads.  Since nobody has had a chance to become acclimated over the past month of spring- and summer-like weather, we're now all shivering.

But you know...it feels good to have January suddenly feeling like January again!

It was 31 and clear today. Last night was windy, like when I lived in Kansas.

Due earlier today (8-9 AM in PST) in its first impact, but the threat will continue throughout the day.

The coastlines from Alaska all the way south are affected.

The volcano is analyzed here:

Snow now, wintry mix later, followed by 4-5 hours of freezing rain, then rain.

mamselle

Last night was down to 3 degrees F.

We were promised all kinds of falling stuff from the sky but none of it happened.

Fine by me.

All the faucets are dripping to prevent pipes freezing, and I put the thermometer up a tiny bit more to be sure....

Another inside day!!!

It's snowing in the South, but it's not really sticking to the road.

A second, more extensive explosion has sent a larger wave into the island of Tonga itself and has created much more serious effects than the first one did.

Those in other places, especially in Australian, cannot contact most of their family members because the cable tying them to the communications grid was ruptured in the explosion:

The sonic boom was heard in Alaska; the transmission waves have reached sensors in the NE coast of North America.

I cannot wait until winter is over. The older I get, the more I understand why senior colleagues retire in Mexico.

We had the lightest of dustings of snow first thing on Sunday.  It had vanished by evening.

Today it will be in the 60s, tomorrow it is forecast to touch 70.  Then on Thursday the high will only be in the 30s, and chilly temperatures for at least the next few days.  I plan to put on a batch of stew on Thursday.
